威廉指标表示的是市场处于超买还是超卖的状态。其中金叉、死叉、快线、慢线的含义与KDJ指标原理基本相同。
应用法则：
主要是从威廉指标“碰顶、碰底”的次数进行分析判断的。取值介于0—100%之间，接近10%或90%就碰底和碰底。
威廉指标碰顶、碰底的次数至少2次，一般不超过4次，且曲线脱离了20以下或是80以上，才可以是明确的买入和卖出信号。由于该指标过于敏感，在操作过程中，最好能结合RSI、KDJ等指标一起判断。

注意：在短线操作时，在行情剧烈变动，急速上升或下降时应注意威廉指标的连续超买和超卖，恰恰是强势的延续，而非反转。
