动量指数MTM是一种专门研究汇价波动的技术分析指标。通过价格和供求关系，汇价的涨幅随着时间的推移如果日渐缩小，上涨的速度慢慢减慢，行情就有可能发生反转。
MTM指数也可以分为快线、慢线来进行金叉和死叉的判断，但是MTM指数没有明确的超买超卖指标，通常情况下，只能把握住100之上的死叉有效、100之下的金叉有效的原则进行判断，有很大的主观性。
所以，动量指数MTM最大作用也是利用其形态和汇价走势的背离原则进行买点和卖点的判断。
