如果上、下阴影都比较长，但烛身很短，这样的烛形叫作“旋转陀螺”（Spinning Tops）。一条长阴影代表了某种意义的价格逆转，而二条长阴影表示了价格没有明确的方向，短的烛身表示开盘价和收盘价之间的变化很小，而长的阴影表示买单和卖单在这个时段都很活跃，但没有哪种力量可以主导市场。虽然价格变化再这个时候比较大，但是最后还是差不多回到了原位僵持，当价格经过了较长时间的上升或长阳烛，旋转陀螺表示上升动力已减弱，上升走势受到阻力。当价格经过了较长时间的下降或长阴烛，旋转陀螺则表示下降动力已减弱，下降走势受到阻力。
